Maytee Green

I have been a Hairdresser and Esthetician for 15 years. I am from San Juan, Puerto Rico and moved to Anchorage AK when I was 5 years old. I decided to go to Hair and Esthetics School when I was 22 and I am so glad I did! I worked at Allure Day Spa and Hair Design in Anchorage AK for 5 years. After getting married in 2000, I moved to Mesa AZ and came to work at this salon under a previous owner. I love this industry and decided to take my career to the next level so I took ownership of this salon in 2002. In 2008 we decided to bring in Aveda and become an Aveda Concepts Salon and Spa. I specialize in color and highlighting services as well as permanent make up, hair extensions and a variety of other services and have found Aveda to be an amazing product line with great branding and environmental awareness that I believe is important in this day and age. 

Beverly A. Crupi

Beverly was born in Illinois and accomplished her cosmetology training at Tricossi School of Cosmetology in Chicago.  In her 30 years of experience, Beverly has received advanced technical training from Aveda, Tony and Guy and several others in advanced razor cutting, extensions, straightening and color applications that look most natural for your skin tone.  Beverly always gives 110% whether it’s participating in a triathlon or listening to her client’s hair concerns.

Carol Ann Mulcahy LM.T.

Carol Ann Mulcahy LM.T. Studied at the Phoenix Therapeutic Massage Institute, graduating in 1993 and has been with True Essence Salon and Spa for 10 years.   As a result of years of training and hours of hands on healing, she is referred by several physicians in the Valley.  Some of her specialty treatments include Deep Tissue, Myotherapy, Hot Stone, Swedish, Pre/Post Natal, Carpal Tunnel release,  Reflexology and many more.  Carol pays close attention to details which increases feelings of safety and confidence to her clients, and her desire to help people of all ages is one of her most valuable assets. Carol hopes to be rewarded someday by teaching Geriatric Therapy. Until then, Carol will continue giving high value service to each of her clients at True Essence Salon and Spa.

Nikki

Originally from Vietnam, Nikki moved to San Jose, CA. in 1993. After graduating high school, she decided she would begin a career as a licensed nail technician. In 1998, Nikki chose to expand her horizons by relocating to the  Phoenix area.

Armed with sixteen years experience, Nikki's success comes from her great attention to detail and drive for perfection; thus, making her one of the most sought after nail technicians in the valley. Joining the True Essence family just a few years ago, Nikki has learned to incorporate AVEDA rituals into every service;  giving her clients a true spa experience. She specializes in; acrylic nails; gel nails; silk wraps; nail art and AVEDA manicures and pedicures.

Nelly Slosser

Nelly Slosser has over 30 years experience in the beauty industry.  She has been with Aveda for 3 years and enjoys with this specialty product line. The advanced Aveda training Nelly has been a part of has increased her knowledge and experience as a stylist and has enhanced her specialty services in color and designer cuts.

Kellene Groshong

Kellene Groshong is a seasoned stylist and color specialist.  She has enjoyed doing hair for over 22 years.  One of her favorite tools is her razor which helps her create custom designs for each of her clients’ personal styles.  As a hair care professional, she has used a wide variety of hair products and color lines throughout the years.  However, she finds that Aveda and their continued education has increased her knowledge and experience immensely.  Aved’s color line has given her versatility and individuality in the area of hair color formulation.  Coming to True Essence to see Kellene you will feel like you have been heard and have confidence that your hair reflects you!  You will, most certainly feel cared for and beautiful when you have your hair done by her.

Peggy Walters

Peggy Walters studied skin at the Skin and Make up Institute in Scottsdale, Az. Her goal is to provide a professional, safe and positive experience at True Essence Salon and Spa. Peggy loves the all natural approach of Aveda and has participated in advanced training in facials and body treatments.

Kelsey Abruzzo

Kelsey Abruzzo joined True Essence in June of 2011.  She is originally from Albuquerque, NM but has spent the last 6 years in Denver, CO where she completed her Bachelors in Business Administration and Cosmetology license.  Kelsey trained at the Aveda Institute Denver and has completed multiple advanced Aveda workshops.  Kelsey loves doing color services and has participated in a number of photo shoots and hair shows.

Tywia Holmes

Tywia is a  Maryland native.  She relocated to Arizona in 2007.  Since she was a child, hairstyling has always been her passion.  In March of 2008, her dream was achieved when she graduated from the Carsten Aveda Institute in Tempe, Arizona.

As a licensed Cosmetologist, she chose to begin her career at True Essence Salon and Spa.  With three years of experience,  Tywia enjoys using specialized coloring and cutting methods to enhance her guests' natural beauty.  She is also knowledgeable in a variety of hair extension techniques.

Always eager to learn, Tywia completes several of AVEDA's continuing education classes each year.  Tywia aspires to be an AVEDA educator herself,  and plans to own an Aveda Concept salon in the near future.

Danielle Walpole

Danielle joined the True Essence Salon and Spa team in 2007 after graduating from National Aesthetics Institute of Scottsdale. Utilizing Aveda’s line of botanical based products Danielle customizes each treatment in harmony with her clients’ skin type, lifestyle and beauty regime. Danielle believes that beautiful skin starts with a customized treatment plan along with at-home beauty regimes that help to gain maximum lasting results.  Danielle also offers services in brow and lash tinting along with a variety of waxing services. One of her favorite treatments to perform is the Caribbean Therapy™ Body Treatment which incorporates a healing touch as well as plant ingredients of the Caribbean to create inner calm and renew the body and senses. Danielle truly believes in the Aveda mission of “Beauty Is As Beauty Does”.
